For our first project of Unit 1 3rd graders will be creating paintings of their
favorite dessert! This project is inspired by well-known artist, Wayne
Theibaud. We will discuss Theibaud's life and artistic style. Students will be
introduced to different perspective techniques to make a flat drawing look like
it has 3D space in it. Students will also apply color contrast theory, as well
as drawing, painting, and craftsmanship
skills
.
**IMPORTANT**: This artwork will be used for the Square 1 Art Fundraiser
this year, which is due October 4th. So, if your child is
absent from Art before the due date PLEASE take advantage of Open Studio hours so that your child will have a
piece for the fundraiser.
