For our first project of Unit 1 Kindergarteners will be creating snail collages.
We will take our inspiration from the children's story, "The Biggest House in
the World". Students will be introduced to all the different types of lines
used in art, as well as a bit of color theory. Students will practice their
fine motor skills by cutting and pasting several different types of geometric
shapes. Students will use drawing techniques for the details on the collage,
while gaining an understanding of good craftsmanship and good work
habits.
**IMPORTANT**: This
artwork will be used for the Square 1 Art
Fundraiser this year, which is
due October 4th. So, if your
child is absent from Art
before the due date PLEASE take advantage of Open Studio hours so that your child will have a
piece for the
fundraiser.
