For our first project in Unit 1 4th graders will be creating realistic animal drawings, with inspiration from artist and illustrator Alex Beard. Students will discuss the difference between representational art and non-objective art. Students will use observational drawing for their animals while using imaginative creativity for the background. We will review and apply color theory, line variety, as well as craftsmanship techniques.
